 CAMS - Condederation of Australian Motorsport

 Within CAMS there are many various fuel rulings, making it one of the most complicated and confusing associations to know which fuels will comply. This is exasperated with there continual rule changes many times, being applied illegally until challenged.

Currently the following fules are alloweable within the majority of CAMS applications

There are three levels of CAMS Rulings

(A) Fuels that comply via FIA Specifications

• Shell World Rally Fuel - 102 RON Oxygenated Fuel
• Shell Turbo Rally Fuel - 102 RON Oxygenated Fuel
• Sunoco FR - 102 RON Oxygenated Fuel

(B) Fuels that comply via Commercially Available Fuels

• VP Roo98 - 98 RON Oxygenated Fuel
• VP MS109 - 109 RON Oxygenated Fuel
• VP SV05 - 108 RON Oxygenated Fuel

(C) Fuels that comply via the Australian Fuel Standards Act (without Exemption)

• VP MS93 - 98 RON unleaded Non Oxygenated Fuel - Street Legal
• VP C10 - 104 RON Unleaded Non Oxygenated Fuel - Street Legal
• VP MS100E - 107 RON Oxygenated Fuel - Street Legal
• VP Roo100 - 100 RON Oxygenated Fuel

Road Racing Tarmac Fuels

There is currently a new ruling being applied by CAMS with the ever growing sport of Road Tarmac Rallying, as found in Targa West, Targa Tasmania etc.

Cams have applied a new ruling limiting users to a 98 RON Commercially Available fuel. Whilst this ruling goes against every other system currently in place, Racing Fuels WA has two fuels which complies with these rulings

• VP Roo98 - 98 RON Oxygenated Fuel
• VP MS93 - 98 RON unleaded Non Oxygenated Fuel - Street Legal

Both of these fuels comply by being Commercially Available, by meeting the maximun of 98 RON. We recomend the following setups

• MS93 for those already tuned on 98 RON Pump fuel for those wanting a fuel with greater consistency and resistance to detonation, without having to retune the vehicle and enabling a mix of normal pump fuel / race fuel without issues.
• VPRoo98 for those prepared to retune the vehicle and wanting the best available fuel. This fuel is very very highly oxygenated, with the MON and RON virtually identical. This means extreme resistance to detonation, and for turbo cars, horsepower levels matching FIA 102 RON fuels.
